Holds talks with DMG to launch new trade shows
Sharjah, 4th May 2014 - Expo Centre Sharjah is further opening up its facilities to external event organisers in order to bring more events to Sharjah and boost occupancy at its halls.
The exhibition organiser and venue owner is in talks with DMG events, which specializes in business-to-business trade shows and conferences in the country like The Big 5, ADIPEC and INDEX, to launch new shows and add niche components to existing events at Expo Centre Sharjah.
“We are looking at tapping external event organisers which will help in bringing more trade shows and conferences to Sharjah. The move will also help improve occupancy at our halls, besides attracting more exhibitors & visitor traffic. We are planning to target trade shows and conferences that do not clash with our calendar of events. DMG events organises some of the well-known shows in the country and across the world and will be a great partner,” said Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO, Expo Centre Sharjah.
Mr. Midfa was speaking after holding talks with Mr. Simon Mellor, President of DMG events, who recently visited Expo Centre Sharjah and was impressed with its facilities, especially the new fifth hall that has added 10,000 sq.m. of space.
“We organise more than 20 trade and consumer shows on our own and we also play host to events organised by other government entities and private agencies. But the recent expansion we have undertaken has given us more flexibility in terms of space which can be better utilised by adding more components to existing shows and launching new events,” he said.
“Expo Centre and DMG will aim at launching new shows that will tap into the rich cultural & religious heritage of Sharjah. A cost-effective platform, the ease in connectivity that Sharjah offers and the large number of industrial establishments that operates out of the Emirate are some of the positive factors that will attract more events to Sharjah,” said Mr. Midfa.
