Dance Fever has hit Dubai

THE SUCCESS OF LAST WEEKEND'S SHARMILA DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA SPIKES NEW INTEREST IN THE ART FORM

April 30th, 2014 – Dubai, UAE: Presented by Palladium, the Sharmila Dance Extravaganza reached new heights this past weekend with sold out shows and raving audience members. In its 14th year running, critics have never been more impressed with the versatility, talent and energy presented on stage at one of Dubai's most sought after dance shows.

The Extravaganza seems to have sparked an interest in dance as new enthusiasts flock to Sharmila Dance drop-in classes at DUCTAC, Mall of The Emirates. There has also been an increase of enquiries for the Sharmila Dance professional ensemble to perform at some of Dubai's most prestigious upcoming events and galas. 

The Sharmila Dance Extravaganza is a professional showcase of the commitment, passion and talent of the Sharmila Dance academy's students and company of professional dancers. Dedicated to sharing the vitality and delight of dance as a form of art and sport, Sharmila Dance offers a range of classes and workshops throughout the year for students of all ages and levels. 

Renowned Choreographer and Founder of Sharmila Dance, Sharmila Kamte said: “All of my dancers from the mere age of seven to my professionals who performed in the Extravaganza 2014 could not have made me more proud.  The months of training, dedication and teamwork demonstrated genuine passion for dance. My heart is swollen with joy and love. Dance is more than just a hobby, sport or pastime and I highly recommend anyone who is seeking more fulfillment in their lives to try it out.” 

Sharmila Dance will be hosting a Summer Workshop June 20th-24th with internationally renowned choreographers flown in to teach a range of different dance genres and techniques. Anyone can sign up and the classes are split between Beginners and Advanced levels. 

Throughout the year, Sharmila Dance offers drop-in classes from seven years of age all the way up to adults, from Beginner to Advanced levels. Various genres of dance are available including Ballet and Live Dance, which incorporates Contemporary, Street Jazz and Hip Hop flavor into fun and innovative choreographies.
