TMG Talent, the events and competitions arm of TMG Children, the largest publisher for children in the GCC Region, announced the winners of the first inter-school Periwinkle colouring and Pen-nosy creative writing competitions. The event was organised in strategic partnership with Sharjah Children's Reading Festival (SCRF). The main facilitators of the event were Malabar Gold and Diamonds, Pelikan Middle East, and Adventureland.

The winners were felicitated in a function held at Sharjah Expo Centre on March 24. Important personalities from various fields distributed the prizes to the little champs. The 18 inter-school winners bagged mementoes and certificates from TMG-SCRF. The school-level winners and all the participants were appreciated with certificates of merit.

Ashley Joseph, JSS Pvt School, Al Safa, Dubai and Abhirami B Nair, Delhi Private School, Sharjah, emerged as the first prize winners of Pen Nosy creative writing competition under the age groups 11-14 (Blossoms) and 8-11 (Buds) respectively.

The Periwinkle colouring competition buds category (age group 3-5) first prize has been won by Seetha Lekshmi Kishore, Al Ain Junior School.

Colouring competition blossoms category (age group 5-8) first prize has been shared among Lhara Tamayo, Twenty-first Century Private Academy, Abu Dhabi, Yuvandhika, Sabari Indian School, Dubai, Sarah Mariam Sunil, Our Own English High School, Girls Branch, Sharjah, and Vasudha Venkatsai, Gems Millennium School, Sharjah.

Our Own English High School, Girls Branch, Sharjah, JSS Pvt School, Al Safa, Dubai and Twenty-first Century Pvt Academy, Abu Dhabi, were appreciated with ‘The Creative Den' title for winning maximum number of prizes.

'After several strenuous and mind-boggling sessions, our panel of jury emerged with the winners. For both the sections, the panel could not do justice by picking one and so there has been a tie for the winning positions,' said Mr KPS Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, TMG Middle East.

More than 1,200 students from schools across the UAE splashed their creative talents at Sharjah Expo Centre on March 16 and 17. Various workshops were conducted the same days by experts on creative writing.
