Dubai Government Human Resources Department offers over 1600 jobs, receives 20,000 e-applications

Dubai, April 24, 2014: Following the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and believing in investing in human resources is the driving force behind DGHR’s role as a Government Partner of Careers UAE 2014. UAE nationals have shown an encouraging alignment towards the Dubai Government stand at Careers UAE 2014 and a huge number of talented young nationals are now hopeful of assisting Dubai in achieving its immediate and long-term goals.

DGHR is the organizer of the Dubai Government stand at Careers UAE 2014, which commenced on April 22, 2014. At the event, Dubai Government has offered over 1600 jobs across more than 30 specialties to talented UAE nationals. As the event draws to an end, the Dubai Government has received over 20,000 online job applications, which speaks volumes for the initiatives extended by the government. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid inaugurated the event and visited the Dubai Government stand to commence proceedings for the three-day event being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced during the launch of the National Agenda 2014, wherein the next 7 years, leading to 2021 were declared as Emiratisation years. We are pleased to see the encouraging response from UAE nationals present at Careers UAE 2014 and we are certain to fulfill our goals of furthering the national agenda by inducting promising and talented Emiratis across over 30 specialities in the Government of Dubai.”

With 34 entities present at the Dubai Government stand, Emirati individuals can focus on their specific strengths in order to apply for roles they best qualify for. Jobs across all positions are on offer at government entities such as the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, General Administration of Civil Defense, Department of Public Prosecutions and Dubai Customs, among others, UAE nationals can identify, assess and apply, in a streamlined manner, for over 1600 positions. 

The immediate advantage of this large-scale induction is that the added human resources to DGHR will help it seamlessly adapt the Smart Dubai strategic plan, commissioned by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which will extensively transform services in transportation, society, economy, governance and environment. Smart Dubai will establish a collaboration between the public and private sectors, to facilitate a smart Transformation of Dubai, providing easy access to government services in day-to-day life. Based on three basic principles – communication, integration and co-operation, Smart Dubai is a challenging platform for the DGHR’s various programmes and activities for the development of human resources.

DGHR is working towards leading initiatives that aims at enhancing the role of human resources in achieving the strategic objectives and priorities for the emirate of Dubai.
