Ministry of Economy Pledges Commitment to Delivery of World Class Services

Al Mansouri: Achieving the UAE Vision 2021 Requires Qualitative Performance and Professional Commitment
Abu Dhabi-UAE: April 3, 2014 – In line with the UAE Vision 2021, and the national agenda to step-up the delivery of all government services, His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, the UAE Minister of Economy, reiterated his keenness to elevate the Ministry’s quality of services to world class standards.
Emphasizing his commitment to conforming to the ‘Emirates Government Service Excellence Programme’ to meet the aspirations and expectations of concerned stakeholders, he shared that the Ministry’s migration to e-services is nearing completion, allowing easy access to its key services through smartphones and other intelligent devices.
He also called for greater effort, qualitative performance and professional commitment from all employees and stakeholders to facilitate the Ministry of Economy to achieve the strategic vision of the country’s leadership.
His Excellency’s comments were made during his visit to the Ministry’s offices in Ajman, which has earned a four-star rating from the Emirates Government Service Excellence Programme.
During his visit, the Minister toured the facilities and departments of the Ministry’s offices in Ajman and listened to suggestions and challenges faced by employees in carrying out their responsibilities on an ongoing basis. His Excellency Al Mansouri also received customer feedback on the Ministry’s services and the problems encountered by customers in interacting with its employees.
The Minister particularly commended the efforts of Sheikh Sultan Bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Director of the Ministry’s office in Ajman, in ensuring the delivery of high quality services.
On his part, His Excellency Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary of UAE Ministry of Economy, praised the efforts of the Ajman office in adopting various electronic applications to facilitate the provision of select services. He assured that all services provided by the Ministry will soon be available online through implementing integrated and data-connected mechanism between the Ajman office, the ministry headquarters and the concerned federal entity.
He also stressed on the importance of the human element in achieving the desired goals, assuring that the ministry seeks to develop systems that enable, motivate, appreciate and evaluate the employees, and eventually impact the quality of services provided. He added that as part of the Ministry’s conformance to the Emirates Government Service Excellence Programme, a comprehensive directory of ministerial services will soon be compiled. Additionally, an integrated marketing campaign will also rolled out for the promotion of the services.
Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Nuaimi attributed the success of the Ajman office to the technical support and qualified workforce provided under the guidance of His Excellency Sultan Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy.
He concluded that Ajman Office will seek five-star rating in the forthcoming evaluation through enhancing its quality of services. He also noted that the office currently offers 10 of the overall services provided by the Ministry of Economy, and the number of monthly e-transactions totaled 3,700 and 3,666 manual transactions from around 1,800 customers.
