Last Update: Tuesday, April 1, 2014 : 17:02 (+4GMT)
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – April 01, 2014 – SAP today announced that iMED Solutions has become a Managed Cloud as a Service (MCaaS) partner in the UAE, with a specific focus on the healthcare sector.
MCaaS enables providers to create and deliver a partner owned private cloud offering and focus on their core business objectives without the upfront costs, resource constraints and long implementation cycles. iMED Solutions will take care of deployment, application, infrastructure management services, as well as ongoing maintenance and support. Clients will only pay a single subscription fee.
“We offer our customers and partners full choice,” said Dr. Werner Brandt, member of the Executive Board and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of SAP. “With our managed cloud services we give solution providers complete control of their customer relationships for cloud delivery of SAP software. This model sees SAP’s partners licensing the software and then offering applications directly to clients as a service. We are delighted that iMED Solutions is one of our partners in the MENA region.”
According to benchmarking organisation VMS, MCaaS can unlock savings of between 37-39 per cent in implementation and continuous improvement projects and upgrades, as well as reduce spend for IT operations.
“MCaaS is a powerful service that will enable new levels of operation freedom and flexibility to companies, all while providing more control over expenses and eliminating almost all upfront hardware and software investments.” said Dr Shamsheer Vayalil Parambath, Managing Director, VPS Healthcare. “This is a service that is all about scalability on demand, flexibility to innovate, speed of deployment and increased productivity. We look forward to using our expertise to introduce MCaaS to the UAE’s healthcare sector to enhance patient care, pave the way for better run hospital operations and inspire game-changing innovation.”
