Taking action on climate change: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank supports Earth Hour 2014

Abu Dhabi, 29 March 2014: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank “ADCB” will participate in the global event ‘Earth Hour' 2014 on Saturday 29 March at 8:30 pm, in unity with others around the world to take action against climate change. The Earth Hour initiative endeavors to promote energy saving behavior and raise public awareness about the environmental impact of energy- management practices by turning off the lights for one hour. ADCB will actively participate to combat climate change by turning off the lights as well as all unnecessary appliances at its headquarters and a number of its branches in the UAE for one hour.
ADCB is also supporting Earth Hour 2014 through other initiatives including its partnership with EWS-WWF, facilitating donations to EWS-WWF through its ATMs, hosting a Lunch & Learn workshop series on the subject for its employees, and spreading the message through communications with customers. ADCB is committed to conserving the environment and has also introduced other internal initiatives across the organization to reduce its environmental impact. ADCB reaffirms its commitment through its participation in Earth Hour 2014.

‘Earth Hour' is a globally-celebrated event organized by Emirates Wildlife Society in cooperation with the World Wildlife Fund. The campaign was initiated in Australia as a gesture to send the community a message that reducing energy consumption and being environmentally responsible can be achieved.
