During Earth Hour, all non-essential lights in the Toyota and Lexus showrooms as well as the Toyota Al Badia 3S facility will be turned off to support the environmentally friendly initiative and raise awareness about the importance of taking serious actions towards global climate change.
Jon Williams, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Motors said: “We are pleased that the UAE community has embraced initiatives such as Earth Hour to shed light on the serious environmental threat faced by our planet. Being the distributor of the largest maker of hybrid vehicles, we support national and global initiatives that help reduce our carbon footprint and build a sustainable future”
He added: “We even encouraged our own associates to take part in this momentous event by turning off the lights in their own homes in order to jointly help make a difference in the community we live in” he added.
Earth Hour is a climate change initiative by "WWF-World Wide Fund for Nature" and invites communities, businesses and governments to switch off lights for 1 hour to send a global message about the need to reduce energy consumption.
