Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive celebrates successful conclusion of BMW Golf Cup International – Kuwait 2014

Kuwait: A number of amateur golfers in Kuwait battled it out at the 2014 BMW Golf Cup International, organised by Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive – the BMW Group importer in Kuwait. The event's successful conclusion resulted in winners bagging valuable prizes and earning the opportunity to represent Kuwait at the BMW Golf Cup International – World Finals next year.
Held at the Sahara Golf Club on 20-21 March 2014, participants also praised the successful close of the first-ever amateur BMW Youth Cup competition on the first day of the two-day weekend event. Ali Mazen Al Ansari (Category A) and Rand Marafie (Category B) eventually won the competition and earned the prestigious title of being its first winners.
At the main event, the competition was ruled by the Kuwait Golf Committee. It saw a total of more than 100 players participate in an 18-hole Individual Stableford Event in three categories: Men’s Category A (Handicap 0-12), Men’s Category B (Handicap betwen 13-28) and Ladies Category with handicaps up to 28.
After 18 tightly fought and gruelling holes of golf, Abdulaziz Al Sarawi emerged as winner in the Men’s Category A, Yong Suk Lee in the Men’s Catgeory B and Fadia Emadi in the Ladies Category. All three won an all-expenses paid trip to the BMW Golf Cup International World Finals in 2015 as Kuwait’s representatives, where they will tee off against more than 100 other golfers representing 47 countries. All costs of the trip will be covered by Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive.
Winners were presented with an exclusive BMW Golf Cup International Trophy and BMW Golfsport gifts.
Special prizes were also handed out to Alan McDonald for firing the Longest Drive and JK Choi for hitting the ball Nearest-to-the-Pin, as well as to Abdulaziz Al Sarawi and Wael Al Welayati for taking home the titles of Best Kuwaiti Gross Score and Best Kuwaiti Net Score respectively.
High ranking officials who presented the awards to the winners were Mr. Fahad Ali Alghanim, Managing Director of Ali Alghanim & Sons and His Excellency Eugen Wollfarth, German Ambassador in Kuwait.
Other dignitaries who participated at the event were the Spanish Ambassador His Excellency Angel Losada; the Italian Ambassador His Excellency Fabrizio Nicoletti, the Ambassador from the Netherlands His Excellency Nicolas Beets; the Bangladeshi Ambassador His Excellency Mohammed Ashabuddin; and the Cambodian Ambassador His Excellency Kem Long.
“The BMW Golf Cup International is the largest series of tournaments for amateur golfers in the world,” said Yousef Al Qatami, General Manager of Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive. “Players from around the globe come through national qualification events against their compatriots, and travel to the highlight: the World Finals, where an unforgettable week of golf and experiences awaits them”.

Therefore, I wish them all best at the BMW Golf Cup International - World Finals in 2015.”
During the tournament, Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive also displayed a range of BMW models, along with BMW Lifestyle items. Apart from the highly charged golf competition, the display also generated a lot of interest among participants, guests and Kuwaiti golf enthusiasts.
