Caliente, the popular Emirati brand of caps announced its support for #MyDubai. Launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, #MyDubai initiative has rapidly grown to a regional phenomenon in an attempt to create the world’s first multimedia autobiography of a city.
“I am thrilled to support #MyDubai, an initiative that celebrates the everyday lives of people and communities of the Emirate and depicts that beneath the landmarks, headlines and superlatives, there is a thriving, exciting and diverse city that 2.1 million people call home,” said Caliente founder, Hamdan Al-Samt.
By submitting images and videos of the compelling moments of their lives and using the hashtag #MyDubai, residents and visitors of Dubai demonstrate the unique identity and true culture of the city. To celebrate the initiative Al-Samt will be releasing a range of #MyDubai caps.
Caliente, meaning ‘hot’ in Spanish was started in 2012 by Al-Samt. The caps have gained popularity among Emirati youth since being introduced in the market and has so far been sported by both local and international celebrities.
With the launch of Dubai art Season 2014, members of the community ranging from tv personalities, artists and opinion leaders were spotted wearing the exclusive #MyDubai Caliente caps.
With 75 different designs and over 30, 000 caps sold in the first year, the brand can be found throughout malls in the UAE as well as Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
