Hotel aims to educate guests with exciting activities all month long

Abu Dhabi, March 09, 2014 – Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi, the flagship property of Rotana Hotels is proud to welcome in the UAE Green Festival, a month long national campaign aimed to educate the general public about the importance of sustainability, the festival is in line with the UAE's green growth and vision 2021.

The month long festival begins from 16 March and ends on 16 April, during this period the teams at Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi are anxiously waiting to present an array of exciting activities to educate and engage with guests during this period. The all-day dining restaurant, Essence, Bodylines Leisure and Fitness Club and the Environmental Health and Safety team have all coordinated together to make the UAE Green Festival 2014 a success.

General Manager Jörg A. Hauri, shares ‘The countrywide celebration spearheaded by the UAE's green growth and vision 2021 is a commitment to the sustainability of earth and its offerings, Beach Rotana is very proud to be part of this national campaign and looks forward to a month filled with sustainable educational activities”, he added.

Essence, the all-day dining restaurant will offer a sustainable green menu that will include locally grown fresh food produced from organic vegetables available during the month long festival.

Group sport activities will be available at Bodylines, Beach Rotana offering a variety of fitness classes including Aqua Aerobics, RPM cycling, a beach run across the 120-metre Private beach of the Hotel and more. The fitness classes are designed to educate and engage with in-house guests and Bodylines members interested in becoming healthy active lifestyle ambassadors of earth. Furthermore, during the festival guests are welcome to participate in the annual earth hour challenge on 29 March from 8:30 – 9:30 pm, the aim is to generate energy and light the hotel lobby of Beach Rotana whilst cycling to conserve energy.

During the festival, Beach Rotana will happily participate in partnering with its sister property Park Rotana Abu Dhabi to plant Ghaf trees on 25 March, the extinct UAE National tree.

The EHS team at Beach Rotana has also coordinated internally engaging with colleagues, hotel divisions were requested to create creative hand-crafted art products from recyclables items to be displayed in front of Rodeo Grill restaurant in the hotel from 30 March – 5 April. Guests are encouraged to learn and vote for their favourite hand-crafted items.
