TAMANI Hotel Marina supports Walk for Education

Over 8000 people participated in Dubai Cares-organized event
Hotel employees attended the three-kilometre, 45-minute walk
Dubai, February 16, 2014: Employees from various nationalities extended their enthusiastic support to the participation of TAMANI Hotel Marina in the Walk for Education organised by Dubai Cares for the fifth successive year in Dubai. The participation comes in line with the TAMANI Care designed for enhance the contribution of Dubai’s premium hospitality brand for socially-relevant causes and initiatives in the UAE.
Walid Al-Awa, General Manager, TAMANI Hotel Marina, said: “It has been our endeavor to be actively involved in activities and initiatives that falls under our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). We are part of the community and it is our responsibility to get involved with community awareness and betterment programmes. Walk for Education will help Dubai Cares’ commitment to build public support for millions of school children in developing countries who walk long distances on a daily basis to pursue their education.”
The all-suites luxury-defining property has 245 units spread over 55 stories in the picturesque Dubai Marina and overlooking The Palm. Last year, the hotel won the World Luxury Hotel Award (WLHA) and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Travel Awards. It has been actively participating in several community-related programmes organised by organisations like Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Dubai Municipality and Emirates Environment Group (EEG).
Over 8000 people from various nationalities and all ages participated in the three kilometer, 45-minute walk on February 7. The walk was a wonderful opportunity for members of the UAE community to volunteer their time, enjoy fun activities with family and friends and meet new people.
The walk was followed by entertainment and activities for all the participants at Jumeirah Beach Park.
Dubai Cares organised the event to underline the significance of quality primary education in developing countries. The Walk was organized to call attention to the rigors and challenges primary-age children in the developing world face in order to access education. On average, these children walk three kilometers every day to attend school.
