Building on the success of the second edition of INTERMAT Middle East, the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) for Abu Dhabi has renewed its partnership as foundation partners for INTERMAT Middle East 2014.
Organised by Comexposium and Clarion Events Middle East, the third annual INTERMAT Middle East will take place from 14 – 16 January 2014 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The DMA recognizes that the event is one of the UAE's leading annual shows with significant growth potential.
Eng. Abdulrahman Al Marzooqi, Director of Environmental, Health and Safety Division, Department of Municipal Affairs for Abu Dhabi: “The aim of our partnership is to implement occupational environment, health and Safety requirements for the building and construction sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Our goal is to guarantee a safe and healthy working environment within the sector, enhance relations with our strategic partners, and ensure that the growth of INTERMAT Middle East is maximized and that its position as the only construction machinery show for the entire Middle East region is consolidated in Abu Dhabi.”
Maryvonne Lanoë, INTERMAT Exhibition Director, said: “We are extremely pleased to have the support of the DMA for our third annual show. Their partnership complimented with the overwhelming support we have received by numerous exhibitors strengthens our credibility of being the premier materials and equipment exhibition for the Middle East's construction and materials industries.”
According to the organisers, the Hosted Buyers Programme contributed to the success of the second annual event, as buyers spent in excess of US$21.5 million since the show in October 2012.
The prime focus of the Hosted Buyers Programme is to secure the cooperation from key investment regions that include Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and others.
Hosted buyers from across the GCC were invited to the UAE by the organisers to discover the best machinery, materials and equipment from across the world.
Ms. Lanoë, said: “In 2012, 60 hosted buyers from across the GCC attended the exhibition for the first time. Our aim now, is to significantly increase the number of hosted buyers that will attend the 2014 edition of INTERMAT Middle East. Furthermore, in 2012 the show attracted 5,500 buyers, which is now expected to increase to 7,500 in 2014.”
