December 4, 2013: ALHOSN University's presence in the latest edition of NAJAH, the largest education, training and careers exhibition in the UAE, once again impressed visitors due to the uniqueness of the university's student-designed stand. Combining modern lines with a central rectangular abstract representation of the historic Al Hosn Palace fort, the ALHOSN pavilion perfectly embodied the institution's motto of ‘global knowledge with local vision.'
The striking predominantly blue-and-white ALHOSN stand affirmed the university's leadership in architectural engineering education. ALHOSN's Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Program is currently the only four-year fully accredited architectural engineering degree program offered in the UAE. For the past three years, architectural engineering students have been designing ALHOSN's NAJAH pavilions which have received accolades from both guests and fellow exhibitors.
The stand made a fitting background as university representatives explained ALHOSN's philosophy of holistic personal development and the benefits of enrolling in any of its 18 undergraduate and 11 postgraduate degrees under the Faculties of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences.
During the show, ALHOSN architectural engineering students Reem Zaidan and Amal Al-Ghifari presented their proposed design for ALHOSN University's future campus to H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, the UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Social Development, who commended the students' work and their eagerness to represent their university.
“NAJAH 2013 served as an ideal platform for ALHOSN to showcase the skills of its Architectural Engineering students who are shaping the present and the future not only of their school but more importantly of their field. The event also attracted a lot of parents and employers who were very interested in the career and recruitment opportunities represented by out university's world-class programs. It was indeed a great event to emphasize the present and future potentials of our students,” said H.E. Prof. Munther Talal Momany, Vice Chancellor and CEO, ALHOSN University.
ALHOSN University's pavilion design for the annual NAJAH Exhibition is chosen through a special architectural competition. This year's selection process was supervised by Dr. Mohamad Kashef, Chair of the Architectural Engineering Department. Despite the production challenges posed by its latest pavilion design, the university decided to continue with the tradition of featuring the winning student entry to maintain the healthy competitive spirit among its architectural engineering students.
Named after Abu Dhabi's historic ALHOSN Palace, ALHOSN University was founded in 2005 by the Abu Dhabi Holding Company in response to growing local demand for high-quality, value-based educational institutions. The university offers 18 undergraduate and 11 postgraduate degrees under the Faculties of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences. ALHOSN accepts students of all nationalities and also accommodates youths with special needs. All its programs are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
