Dubai-UAE: 28 November, 2013 - Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, today celebrated the UAE's 42nd National Day with festivities at a grand event hosted at DSOA headquarters.
On this special occasion, Dr Mohammed Al Zarooni, Vice Chairman and CEO of DSOA, along with DSOA staff, tenants and residents of the community gathered to enjoy the day-long activities that included singing of the National Anthem, cutting of a huge cake, as well as Emirati traditional folkloric performances of Leawa and Ayyalla. Traditional Emirati food was also served.
Dr Mohammed Al Zarooni said: “Our celebration of the 42nd UAE National Day is a reflection of the national pride we feel in being a part of this great country and the milestones that have been achieved. These goals would not have been achieved without the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi."
As part of the celebrations, the DSOA headquarters was decorated with the UAE flag. In addition, the pillars in and around the building sported the UAE colours and ‘Spirit of the Union' images.
Dubai Silicon Oasis is currently the home for over 30,000 people residing and working in the high-tech free zone park that includes commercial and residential facilities, schools and other community services.
Dubai Silicon Oasis is a wholly-owned entity of the Government of Dubai and operates as a free zone for semiconductor, microelectronic and other high technology-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and research and development (R&D) facilities in the Middle East and North Africa region.
