Dubai-UAE: November 24, 2013: The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG), a premier institution for research and education in public policy in the Arab world, organized an open day for students seeking to enrol for the Master's program in Public Administration (MPA) that is scheduled to commence in January 2014.
The Open Day provided the prospective students with an opportunity to learn more about the program and allowed them to communicate directly with the faculty and staff who would be responsible for teaching the course content. The Faculty members gave a presentation on how pursuing the Master's program in public administration would impact the professional careers of the students.
A number of lecturers and professors including Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government, and Dr Rob Bateman, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, as well as Dr Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Associate Professor, and Dr Ahmed Badran, Assistant Professor, were on hand to offer input and advice.
Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri said: “The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government is keen to educate a new generation to take its rightful place across different sectors of the labour market and provide a high quality of service. We are pleased today to stand among this group of intelligent young people with dreams to assume leadership responsibilities in public administration and service. Such aspirations are in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to empower a generation of innovators and leaders with the ability to continue the process of sustainable development in our country.”
The Master's program will include courses on public/government administration, global government funding, economic policies, social policies (in relation to global mechanisms and institutional performance), performance management, and quality management in government service.
The Master's in Public Administration is an academic degree equivalent to 33 credit hours. Students have the option of studying part-time over a minimum of 20 months and a maximum of three years, or working on the full-time, intensive one-year schedule. The program provides students the opportunity to acquire theoretical and practical applications, while interacting with regional and international experts in the field of public administration. The program will only accept 60 participants, and is open to both male and female students.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government had earlier this year announced a 50 percent scholarship on tuition fees for the Master's program, from the total fee of AED120,000, for all employees in the public sector (both UAE nationals and residents). Registrations for the program will close on November 30, 2013.
