Jeddah cricket tournament concludes in favor of MCC ELAF's Captain

Jeddah, November 14, 2013 - Employees from leading companies in Jeddah came together to establish professional cricket teams and participated in the 2013 Asian Premier League, a cricket tournament held in the Khalid Bin Waleed Street Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia. Headed by Captain Nizar Mohamed Thaib, Finance Manager of Elaf Group, the M.C.C. ELAF achieved tremendous success throughout the series held from 10th to 18th October 2013 and went on to win the champion's trophy.
Mohamed Owais Sabir and Mohamed Rizan, also from Elaf Group, in addition to players from other companies that built up the team performed very well and made major contributions towards the victory of the team. The cricket teams were formed by employees of various groups of companies representing different sectors such as travel and tourism, cargo, telecommunications and automobiles.
Ziyad Bin Mahfouz, President Elaf Group, said: “The Asian Premier League was a good cricket tournament organized by some of the well-known companies of Jeddah as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in which Elaf Group also participated. Such sports activities are part of our commitment towards our employees to promote a healthy and active lifestyle and create a perfect balance between work and leisure. Since cricket is a team game, it encourages team building between the employees as well as encourages healthy competition among them.”
