TNT Express in Qatar opens a new warehouse

Doha, Qatar, 11th November 2013 -TNT Express in Qatar opens a new warehouse in Doha to support and sustain its business growth in the country.
Located in Doha industrial area, the dust free state-of-the-art facility is equipped with advanced storage management systems, real time barcode scanning, and latest material handling equipments.
According to experts, Qatar's logistics sector is expected to grow by $150m in the next two to five years. The country's decision to develop more free market zones also is expected to further the development of the logistics sector.
More than 32 major projects have been launched in Qatar, including Doha Airport city, Qatar Rail, as well as many projects focusing on roads enhancement and extension.
The country is keen to establish a world-class logistics hub in the peninsula.
Raju Cherian, Country Manager of TNT Express in Qatar, stated: “Qatar is considered one of the fastest growing Express markets in the world.
Moreover the upcoming FIFA World cup is set to continue the country's growth within the Express sector. Our new warehouse helps us respond effectively to market changes, TNT Express MERN ( Middle East Road Network) trucks can now load and unload in dedicated areas, hazardous goods and air freight can be handled more rapidly.”
James Edgeworth, Middle East Sales and Marketing Director said: “The Express logistics industry in Qatar has been positively impacted by the significant expansion of air transportation, which is now considered as an important contributor to Qatar's GDP booming ,with an annual increase of 25.7%. Moving to a more modern and spacious warehouse in Doha industrial area, will help us effectively improve our delivery times and reliability.”
