Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority Joins the UAE in the First Flag Day Celebration

Dubai-UAE: 06 November, 2013 – Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, today joined the citizens and residents of the UAE in celebrating the country's first Flag Day.

As a key highlight of the celebrations, the UAE flag was hoisted at DSOA's headquarters in the presence of DSOA's staff and the companies operating from the technology park.

Flag Day honours the anniversary of the accession of the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The commemorative day was announced earlier this week by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, said: "Our country's flag is a symbol of our unity and reflects the greatness and achievements of our leadership. The citizens of the UAE are joined with one voice in support of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. We pray that God protects him and he continues to lead us well into the future with his far-sighted vision and wisdom. Under his leadership, our country and most notably our youth have achieved great success on the global stage."

A wholly-owned entity of Dubai Government, Dubai Silicon Oasis operates as a free zone technology park for the semiconductor, microelectronic and other high technology-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and R&D facilities in the Middle East and Africa region.
