Assar Skydiving Team Brings Home the Gold

Wins 1st Place in the 15th Asiania Parachuting Championships & China International Open
Dubai, UAE 14th October 2013 – The ASSAR team, Skydive Dubai-sponsored athletes, brought home the gold medal to Dubai. The team won first place in the 15th Asiania Parachuting Championships & China International Open held in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China from 3rd to 13th October, 2013.
H.E. Nasser Al Neyadi, President EAF, Chairman of the board of Skydive Dubai said: “Skydive Dubai is honored to hone award-winning athletes and my congratulations to the Assar Skydiving team for bringing home this prestigious win. We are proud to participate in these international events where Skydive Dubai can showcase its prowess in skydiving.”
In the 4-Way Formation Skydiving event, ASSAR Skydiving team executed eight (8) rounds. The last round took them the lead with 18 points while the China team came close with a score of 16 points.
Four teams, two (2) from Skydive Dubai and the other two (2) from the Military, competed in the same competition in different disciplines representing the UAE flag.
The Skydive Dubai team took second place in the 2-way Canopy Formation event, while the Military Team won second place in Accuracy Team and third place in the Accuracy Individual respectively.
International teams from Australia, Bahrain, China, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Korea, Mongolia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Russia, Romania, Canada and USA also participated in the event.
SkyDive Dubai represented the UAE in the famous parachuting competition. A heroes' welcome was organised by Skydive Dubai at the Al Majlis VIP Service, a brand new facility at Terminal 3, Dubai International airport. Teams from The Crown Prince Office, Skydive Dubai along with Dubai Sport Council and Emirates Aero Sport Federation greeted the champions and warmly received them.
