Dubai Music Week, a venture between partners, Global Gumbo Group (G3) and DXB Live, in collaboration with Dubai World Trade Center, will leave music fans buzzing with excitement when the week wraps up with a memorable evening featuring Arab rising stars from the hugely popular and successful Arab Idol and X Factor Arabia, as well as a special tribute performance of ‘Tomorrow/Bokra'.
The free all-ages Pepsi Arabic Night on September 29 at the Dubai World Trade Center will kick off at 6:00 PM with a special performance by the winner of Pepsi BandSlam – a battle of the bands competition that takes place between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. every night of Dubai Music Week. The six bands competing for centre stage represent every corner of the region including Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, KSA, Qatar and UAE (www.pepsibandslam.com).
Next up, Mohammed Riffi, the consistent fan favourite and ultimate winner of X Factor 2013 will perform alongside Ibrahim Abd Elatheem, Adham Naboulsi, and RAP group Young Pharoz.
“There is no better way to end this extravagant week than with a riveting performance by some of the regions' top rising talents,” remarks Kurt Frenier, Senior Marketing Director, PepsiCo Middle East & Africa region. “The Pepsi Arabic Night is a culmination of everything Dubai Music Week strives for – finding and showcasing incredible talent, providing music lovers toe-tapping entertainment, and elevating Dubai to become the musical hub in the region.”
The second half of the evening belongs to Arab Idol's most loved contestants, including Carmen Soliman. The young talented Egyptian singer shot to fame when she amazed the judges and audience with her breathtaking voice during the show's first season in 2012, emerging as the eventual winner. Also appearing is Dounia Batma and Youssef Arafat.
In recognition of music legend Quincy Jones returning to the region, a special performance of ‘Tomorrow/Bokra' will mark the midway part of the evening. The performance will bring to the stage Quincy Jones, Arabic performers and children from different educational institutions, including several from projects that are being directly supported by the funds raised from the sales proceeds of the charity song.
“Showcasing the incredible musical talents of the Arab world is the most fitting finale for Dubai Music Week” stated Executive Director of G3, Taymoor Marmarchi. “Bringing together the best of Pepsi BandSlam, X Factor Arabia and Arab Idol for a single concert will be a memorable evening for everyone in attendance.”
Dubai Music Week, which is being presented in association with Dubai Calendar, official Partner Emirates and official sponsor Pepsi, marks the first industry trade show in MENA which brings together all the major music labels, artists and merchants to exhibit their products and launch initiatives to key industry stakeholders and consumers. It will run from September 24 – 29 and include a host of seminars, panel discussions and live concert performances from global industry personalities.
