Emirates World Exclusive Quincy Jones Seminar brings Michael Jackson's Dream Team to Dubai Music Week

Mulit-Grammy winning production team give fans unprecedented insight to the making of the King of Pop's greatest selling albums on September 24

13th September 2013. Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Dubai Music Week, a venture between partners, Global Gumbo Group (G3) and DXB Live, in collaboration with Dubai World Trade Center, will be hosting Michael Jackson's dream team in Dubai for an exclusive evening on September 24th.
“Dubai Music Week is a revolutionary new concept, designed to bring industry talent, management and technology together from across the region,” said Quincy Jones, Chairman and Co- Founder of Global Gumbo Group (G3). Adding, “We have an exciting week-long programme that will set the stage for furthering the potential of the music industry in the region.”

The Emirates Quincy Jones seminar, taking place at Dubai World Trade Center, has something to thrill everyone, from spine-tingling performances to insightful panel discussions on the key to the success of Michael Jackson's biggest hits.

Set in a studio-like environment, music legend Quincy Jones will be joined stage Rod Temperton – credited with writing Jackson's Thriller and Rock with You; Bruce Swedien, who recorded, mixed and assisted in producing the best-selling album in the world, Thriller; and Siedah Garrett, who co-wrote Man in the Mirror.

Moderated by Ben Fong-Torres, former senior editor of Rolling Stone, the panels' discussion will transport music lovers back in time to experience the inspiration behind two of the highest selling albums of all time – Michael Jackson's Thriller and Off The Wall. The albums have sold over 110 million and 20 million copies worldwide, respectively.
Those in attendance will be treated to what promises to be a moving performance by songwriter and vocalist Siedah Garrett, who will perform the hit duets she sang alongside Jackson – I Just Can't Stop Loving You and Man in the Mirror. 

But it doesn't end there! To top it all off, participants are sure to be awe-struck by guest performer CJ Holland – a MJ impersonator hand-picked by Jones to perform Rock With You and Girl Is Mine during the session, because of the uncanny resemblance of his voice to Jackson's.

Indeed, the members of the dream team have an impressive record behind them. Jones' career spans a remarkable six decades, during which he boasted 79 Grammy Award nominations, and won a whopping 27(the most of any living musician). During this time, he also co-produced Thriller alongside Jackson.

Another member of the dream team is multi-Grammy Award winner, Rod Temperton, wrote three songs for Off the Wall and the title track of Thriller. In fact, he was one of the last people to work with Jackson before he died in 2009. During the seminar, Temperton promises to share secret tales about Thriller and the aftermath of its overwhelming success.

Dubai Music Week, which is being presented in association with Dubai Calendar, official Partner Emirates and official sponsor Pepsi, marks the first industry trade show in MENA which brings together all the major music labels, artists and merchants to exhibit their products and launch initiatives to key industry stakeholders and consumers. It will run from September 24 – 29 and include a host of seminars, panel discussions and live concert performances from global industry personalities.
