The autumn edition of Sharjah jewellery show will be a connoisseur's delight

There is a double delight that awaits buyers of gold and diamond jewellery in the region the coming season — apart from low prices, they can look forward to some of the bold and bright designs and trends from across the world.
Right from the works of leading designers to master jewellers and craftsmen, the lovers of jewellery can expect to see the best of the world, inspired by a vast array of influencers including celebrities and pop culture, customs, traditions, art and high fashion.
Bringing together some of the world's best craftsmen and master jewellers is the 35th MidEast Watch & Jewellery Show, which is scheduled to be held at Expo Centre Sharjah from October 1-5, 2013. It will be held under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
With its finger on the fashion and fine jewellery pulse, the show promises to liven up the bulk-buying and gift-giving season of Eid Al Adha, the Indian festival of Diwali, the UAE National Day, Christmas and New Year.
“Our society is very fashion forward, partly due to the vast diversity of nationalities and cultures present and the multitude of social, cultural and religious activities of the local and expat life in the country. And with the festive season round the corner, the genuine lovers of gold and diamond jewellery will never have it so good,” said Mr. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Director-General, Expo Centre Sharjah.
True lovers of precious metals and gems can expect enchanting embellishments, mesmerising collections, ancient influences, spurt of colours, chunky pieces, brooches & crystals, and cocktail jewellery.
“While the show will be a treasure trove of works known for their craftsmanship and superior quality for the common buyers, for trade representatives it will be an opportunity to rub shoulders with top executives of world's leading jewellery houses, industry associations and designers who converge on Expo Centre Sharjah,” Mr. Midfa added.
Connoisseurs of the elegant Ploi Thai brand of high quality gemstones produced in Thailand have enough reasons to rejoice this season. The Thailand Pavilion, organized for the second consecutive time, featuring dazzling gold & diamond jewellery from leading Thai manufacturers under the brand ‘Ploi Thai'. Organized by Vega Intertrade & Exhibition in cooperation with Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association (TGJTA), the Thailand Pavilion will be one of the largest showcases of its kind in the region, specializing on beautiful and unique setting for precious and semi-precious stones, intricate designs and embellishments, extravagant wedding jewellery sets, personalized creations and handmade products, among others.
The Show will be open from 1st to 5th October at Expo Centre Sharjah and the timings are from 11am to 10pm daily, except Friday, 4th October. Friday timings are from 4pm to 10pm only. There will also be a dedicated ladies timings from 11am to 4pm on Wednesday, 2nd October. Admission is free for all.
About the show: The 35th MidEast Watch & Jewellery Show will be organized by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry from October 1 to 5, 2013. It will be held under the patronage of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. It is expected to feature more than 450 jewellers from all over the world at nearly 20,000 sq m of exhibition space, displaying gold and diamond jewellery, diamonds, precious stones, loose pearls, pearl sets and watches.
Show timings are from 11am to 10pm daily, except Friday, 4th October. Friday timings are from 4pm to 10pm only. Special ladies timings are from 11am to 4pm on Wednesday, 2nd October. Admission is free for all.
