Nationalization of human resources to be at the forefront of discussions as more than 69% of Middle East CEO's point to the availability of talent and key skills as a potential threat to growth in 2013
Dubai, UAE. July 8, 2013: More than 100 senior thinkers and practitioners from the region's HR community, as well as leading organizations from across the Middle East will converge in Dubai at the Talent & Career Development Conference 2013, which is being held from October 1 - 2.
The conference will address the burning issue of nationalization in the region and will outline proven approaches to developing comprehensive talent & development platforms, to reflect an organization's vision, as well as realities of the regional market. After successful conferences in Spain, Amsterdam, and India, HRTruevents in collaboration with IBB International are hosting the 4th annual conference in Dubai this year in view of the regions burgeoning investment in human capital. The conference aims to build upon specific regional and global talent and career topics.
“Investment in expatriate human capital across the region is strongly increasing owing to various growth factors. At the same time nationalization, specifically in the UAE and Saudi Arabia's private sector is particularly crucial to achieve a balance in human capital,” said, Vaishali DasGupta, Managing Director, HRTruevents.
“Given the current challenges in the region's human resources market, we believe there is an urgent need for some of the HR community's great minds to come together and share their expertise in addressing such issues on a common platform. As organizations realize that human capital is their biggest asset, we believe a conference of this level is the need of the hour and should be on top of every HR professional's agenda,” said Salvatore Nasti also Managing Director of HRTruevents.
According to the 2013 Middle East CEO survey conducted by PriceWaterhouseCooper, more than 69% of Middle East CEO's point to the availability of talent and key skills as a potential threat to growth in 2013, compared to 58% in the global survey.
“Globally organizations cite improving leadership ‘bench strength' as one of their most pressing issues when it comes to talent management. In the Middle East this is particularly pronounced as a company's main concern is to attract and retain top talent, while addressing workforce nationalization issues. While most workforces in the region comprise expatriates, nationalization remains a key focus for the governments in this region. The conference aims to help HR professionals link their talent, career, and organizational development to their business objectives while addressing competency shortages,” said DasGupta.
“In the 2013 report by Chartered Global Management Accountant CGMA, only 41% of firms are confident that their human capital strategy is truly embedded in their organization's strategy. The conference will provide valuable insights on how organizations in the region can design, implement and manage their HR strategies to reflect their values,” said Navana Kundu Managing Director of IBB.
Over two days, the impressive line up of speakers will exchange ideas on leadership development and growth, talent acquisition and management, coaching and mentoring, and nationalization of the workforce. Day one of the conference will witness AbdulMuttalib Al Hashmi, an Emiratization expert sharing his view on nationalization and bridging the gap between the governments vision for nationalization and employee understanding, as well discussing the many challenges involved.
Other top speakers for the conference include HR heads from Abu Dhabi Education Council, Al Futtaim, Dubai Holding, Etihad Airways, Dubai Human Resources Forum, Etisalat Academy, Pepsico, Standard Chartered Bank, TDIC, and several others.
The conference will provide exclusive business cases, access to think tanks, thought leader debates, master workshops and round-table discussions, in addition to panel discussions and an open forum.
