Over 16,500 Iftar Meals Distributed in Collaboration with Charities

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 27 March, 2025: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA), in partnership with various official and charitable organisations across the UAE, has implemented a series of voluntary initiatives during the holy month of Ramadan, reflecting the nation's values of solidarity, generosity, and social responsibility as a core institutional principle

Coordinated through DHA's Volunteer Committee, the initiatives included the distribution of Iftar meals, provision of food baskets for underprivileged families, and field visits reaching labourers at various locations across Dubai. These efforts underscore the authority's commitment to community engagement and its alignment with national institutions to foster social cohesion, with human welfare placed at the forefront of development.

Khalid Al Ajmani, Chairman of DHA's Volunteer Committee, highlighted the authority's Ramadan initiatives, which saw the distribution of 16,540 Iftar meals. Among these was the “Lamma” initiative, organised by the Public Health Protection Department in collaboration with the Ailat Al Ata'a group, focusing on labourers in the Al Quoz area. Additionally, the authority's Women's Committee carried out the “Ramadan Baskets” initiative, further supporting those in need.

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) also launched the “Treasures of Good” initiative in collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent and the “Tables of Good” initiative in partnership with the Dubai Charity Association, aimed at supporting various segments of society.

Al Ajmani emphasised the authority's strong commitment to fostering a culture of institutional volunteerism through sustainable initiatives. These programmes provide DHA employees with opportunities to contribute positively to the community, reinforcing Dubai's status as a global centre for humanitarian and volunteer work in line with the emirate's vision.

“The DHA Volunteer Committee continues to expand partnerships with various charitable and humanitarian organisations to implement additional sustainable initiatives throughout the year,” Al Ajmani said. He noted that volunteer work within DHA has transitioned from a seasonal activity to an institutional model—an integral part of the authority's work culture and a developmental framework aimed at serving people and enhancing their quality of life.
