The durable and compact build camera is fast to set up for handheld or mounted shooting, making it ideal for filmmakers
Dubai, UAE, 28 November 2022: The launch of Sony VENICE 2 is giving filmmakers and cinematography community in the Middle East & Africa region more freedom of expression than ever before, along with a versatile cinematic solution for high quality content creation.
With an impressive new 8.6K full-frame image sensor that allows them to shoot in any format, such as Super35 and Anamorphic, VENICE 2 offers a choice between 8K and 6K sensors, both of which boast incredibly wide latitude and gamut. The X-OCN format is very easy to work with in terms of computer processing power and working on it in post-production.
Sajeer Shamsu, Head of Digital Imaging at Sony Middle East & Africa said: “The VENICE 2 cinema camera will be especially beneficial for the rising number of filmmakers in the MENA region who are experimenting with new content. Even though Sony’s TVs are 8K compatible, currently very little content is being produced in 8K. This is primarily due to the lack of efficient equipment to produce 8K content with supporting features. We are excited to announce that the VENICE 2 addresses this gap and will drive future growth in 8K broadcast in sports and entertainment applications.¬”
The dual base ISO leads to amazing performance in low light capabilities. It also has the ability to reproduce true reflections of skin colors, lending a certain softness to skin tones.
Furthermore, the VENICE 2 Rialto (extension system), detaches from the sensor block giving the filmmaker more freedom. This was very important in productions such as Top Gun with the VENICE 1, which is only available for the 6K version with the 8K version to be released in early 2023.
VENICE 2, a cinema camera created by and for the cinematographer, is reliable and usable, especially during demanding shoots. The VENICE 2 also features simple menu navigation and connectors arranged to make life easier on set. Filmmakers can enjoy durable, compact build, and new internal recording capabilities, to capture even more colours and detail.
