Mohammed Bin Rashid Library displays its Rare Books and Unique Services at the Sharjah International Book Fair

Dubai, UAE, 2 November 2022:  To showcase its premium services and features offered to its members and all segments of society, Mohammed bin Rashid Library (MBRL) is participating in the 41st edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), taking place from November 2-13 at the at Expo Centre Sharjah, under the theme “Spread the Word”.

Located in Hall No. 5, Pavilion M-13, MBRL’s stand at SIBF 2022 displays a unique collection of rare books, including the Kuwait & Iraq Literary Magazine and the Old Man & the Sea. It also highlights the Library’s portfolio of unique services and cutting-edge technologies, including AI-based solutions, as well as its cultural and entertainment activities and workshops. In addition, MBRL's stand will enable visitors to pre-register for Library membership using devices available on-site.

Moreover, MBRL will provide an overview of its new virtual tour offering available via its website on: https://storage.net-fs.com/hosting/6241505/28/. The tour gives visitors the opportunity to stroll among MBRL’s halls and visit the Information Centre and the various sub-libraries, including Public Library, Young Adults Library, Children’s Library, Atlas and Map Library, Media and Arts Library, Business Library, Emirates Library, Periodicals Library, and the Special Collection Library.
Built over more than 500,000 sq. ft., including land and floor spaces, and with an architectural concept inspired by "The Rehl"- the traditional X-shaped lectern used across the Islamic world, MBRL houses more than one million books in various disciplines and it is one of the most remarkable buildings in the Middle East and of the most technologically-advanced libraries in the world, utilising artificial intelligence technologies (AI), augmented reality (AR), holograms, and smart robots.
