Insightful workshop hosted at the Social Media Station provides a simple, accessible step-by-step guide to the marketplace of digital collectibles
Sharjah, May 19, 2022: Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are under the spotlight at the 13th Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF), where the ever-popular Social Media Station is hosting two expert-led workshops demystifying the thriving digital phenomenon that is transforming the art world.
NFT artist Magda Malkoun provided a step-by-step guide of how to mint NFTs, while breaking down the various terms associated with the world of digital assets in clear and lucid language at the workshop titled, ‘How to Become an NFT Artist’.
Using various multimedia learning tools, Malkoun explained how to create a crypto wallet, trade in the virtual marketplace, design a digital artwork using the software MediBang Paint, ensure online safety while minting NFTs, and other tips and tricks to ease the entry of artists into the dynamic digital marketplace.
To inspire budding NFT artists in the audience, Malkoun also presented an array of examples of NFT art including photography, animation, videos, and other works by a host of digital-savvy youth.
“It’s important for kids to learn about NFTs, because it’s the new reality of the art world,” said Malkoun. “In the same way that they cultivate creative skills like fashion design, photography and painting, young artists of today must learn how to create and mint NFTs.”
