10 May 2022- The fourth edition of Economic Forum Brazil and Arab Countries will be organized by Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) at São Paulo on July 4, 2022. The biennial event, which has established itself as the main gathering place for discussions between Arabs and Brazilians, holds further significance as it coincides with the 70th anniversary celebrations of the ABCC.
The forum, which is expected to attract officials from Brazil and Arab countries as well as businesspersons and decision makers, will be held at Hotel Renaissance in São Paulo. The event will also be streamed online giving an opportunity to people in Brazil and Arab countries to participate virtually in the forum. Focusing on legacy and innovation, the forum will celebrate the history and transformation of the ABCC, which has remained steadfast in its commitment to improve Arab-Brazilian relations.
During the event, a panel discussion titled ‘A World in Constant Transformation’, will highlight the transformative milestones of the international landscape and their impacts on the business. Themed ‘Economic Integration and Investments for Competitiveness’, the second panel discussion will feature renowned experts who will share their vision on opportunities to intensify trade integration and diversification among the countries.
The third panel discussion titled ‘Corporate Governance in International Operations’, will highlight the importance of adoption of ESG by companies in the international business scenario as they generate interest from investors and meet the demands of international consumers who increasingly demand a sustainable and transparent posture on behalf of companies. Titled ‘Connections that Transform the World, the fourth panel discussion will highlight different issues - including the Arab government programs aimed at boosting the innovation ecosystems, the Brazilian ecosystems, and opportunities for going international in the Arab countries. The panel will also present successful cases of Brazilian and Arab companies, such as startups, marketplaces, and others. Metaverse and its role in digital and physical media and the blockchain potential to solve security-related challenges and value chain traceability will also be discussed.
Terming the forum as an ‘echo chamber’ of Brazil-Arab relations, Osmar Chohfi, ABCC president, said that this edition is special as it not only addresses the importance of innovation for the survival of companies, but also coincides with the 70th anniversary of the Chamber. “COVID-19 pandemic has pushed the world to the realization that innovation can help modernize economies. The ABCC has implemented the Ellos Platform which uses blockchain technology to take all Brazil-Arab trade transactions to the digital world.”
Talking about the event, he said one of the most important goals of the forum is to raise awareness of authorities in Brazil and Arab countries on the relevance of the trade between these two regions. “Through this forum, we also intend to bring businesses from Brazil and the Arab world closer, identifying business opportunities and promoting the relevance of this relation to a wider audience," he added.
Besides debates, the forum will provide an opportunity for the attendees to build their network. The Hotel Renaissance will feature a lounge for exhibiting brands and companies. The online platform will also showcase diverse digital content, complementing the in-person attractions.
In 2020, the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries was held virtually due to COVID-19 pandemic induced restrictions. Over 10,000 people from 61 countries, including relevant Brazilian and Arab leaders, participated in the event.
