31, March 2022 – Having received almost 5 million visits during the event’s six-month period, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai held a gala evening on 28 March to celebrate its impressive achievements and as a gesture of appreciation to the host country, the United Arab Emirates.
Celebrations at the KSA Pavilion included a VIP reception followed by a mesmerizing theatrical celebration. The Open Square LED screen showcased breathtaking images from AlUla, Jeddah, Ad Diriyah, Riyadh and Al Ahsa that showcased the Kingdom’s diverse natural beauty. Taking the audience back in time, a timelapse of the construction phase of the pavilion was shown followed by a visual depiction of the four key pillars on which the KSA Pavilion experience is anchored: People, Opportunity, Heritage, and Nature. Moreover, many of the Pavilion’s key milestones were projected onto the screen, highlighting its incredible run at Expo 2020 Dubai.
The captivating visual narrative included an awe-inspiring performance exploring the Kingdom’s past, present and the future as seen through the lens of the Saudi Pavilion. Later, the ceremony concluded with a spectacular show of laser, cold pyrotechnics and confetti.
