Over 25 students from Ajman University and Bath Spa University have signed up for the event, which kicked off last week and will run until January 2022. The AI Robotics Hub is still accepting more participants from other universities.
H.E. Eng. Ali AlSuwaidi, Director General of Ajman Free Zone, said: “To show its support for UAE Strategy for AI 2031 and Ajman Vision 2021, the AI Robotics Hub has launched its first hackathon. This is an exciting competition designed to showcase and enhance the skills of coding and programming students in Ajman and the UAE. It reflects the commitment of the free zone and the Hub to help build a thriving digital economy in the country through continuous capacity development of our youth. We also seek to demonstrate our support for the ‘UAE Codes’ initiative and its objectives through the competition. We would like to express our appreciation to Ajman University and Bath Spa University for taking part in our event, and we hope to see more participants from other institutions. Best of luck to all our contestants.”

We can achieve this mission faster by partnering with relevant and pioneering organizations such as AI Directions and Huawei Cloud. We thank our two partners for generously lending their support to our competition this year, which will make a huge difference in the country’s bid to become one of the leading nations in the modern era,” H.E. added.
