‘Time is Running’, a walking visual spectacle mixes dance, mime, and comedy to charm visitors at 40th Sharjah International Book Fair
Sharjah, November 12, 2021
Dressed in a multicolour ensemble, four performance artists roamed the halls and aisles of the 40th Sharjah International Book Fair at Expo Centre Sharjah, as visitors looked on in wonder and amazement.
The visual spectacle of a silent but fascinating cast of comic characters thrilled and delighted the SIBF 2021 audience who followed the performers as they danced and frolicked through the crowd with tiny suitcases in each hand. As the excitement built up, with the performers exuberantly weaving their way through the surging crowds, many visitors joined in to shake a leg with the performers.
The live show titled ‘Time is Running’, depicts the artists racing against time in a journey full of fun, challenges, and laughter and yet, taking a moment to sit and read an ‘imaginary’ book. The excited kids and adults clicked selfies to capture the unique moment.
“‘Time is Running’ is a reminder that we need to read more, explore the world, and lose ourselves in new experiences,” said Roy Tukkers, the creative mind behind Tukkers Connexion. “We need to hurry, and sometimes we must slow down, and take time out to read real books – especially now when people are hooked on to their phones.”
The entertaining show highlighted why it was important for both children and adults to take a much-needed break occasionally and do something they love, like reading a book.
The milestone 40th edition of SIBF, held under the theme ‘There’s always a right book’, concludes on November 13 at Expo Centre Sharjah.
