Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 02, 2021: The Dubai Health Authority recently won two awards at the Asian Hospital Management Awards (AHMA), which is a prestigious program that recognises and honours hospitals’ best practices in Asia Pacific since 2002.
Running alongside the Hospital Management Asia conference, it is the most prominent hospital management awards in the region.
AHMA 2021 recognises hospital projects that have demonstrated the most innovative and progressive approaches across the region to improve healthcare.
DHA won the runner-up award for most advanced technology for its E-Connected Healthcare Model towards COVID-19 Response. In the category of the most advanced health technologies, the authority won the Excellence Award by implementing an innovative work model based on the electronic link that the authority established between the public and private health sectors to achieve the fastest and most effective response to the pandemic.
This electronic link between the health systems had a great impact in enhancing capacity of Dubai’s health sector in terms of the number of beds and COVID-19 tests, reducing the time taken to issue reports, support decision-making and unify efforts between the public and private sectors.
It significantly helped achieve business continuity and enhance health services during the pandemic
DHA also won the excellence award in financial improvement for its Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in DHA’s Procure to Pay Process, which uses Ai technology for procurement and payment purposes. The Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in DHA’s Procure to Pay Process has virtual employees (Ai assistants) to help purchase and payment procedures in a completely automated manner. The DHA is the first government entity in the region to implement this.
This initiative has succeeded in reducing operational expenses related to procurement, contract management and payment procedures, in addition to increasing the happiness of suppliers and employees, reducing errors and enhancing the efficiency of operations.
These initiatives are in line with the Dubai government’s drive to become the smartest city in the world and to achieve the paperless strategy of the Emirate of Dubai and the Emirates Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031.
His Excellency Awad Al Ketbi, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority said that Dubai Health Authority is keen to continue to harness technology across all aspects of healthcare from health service delivery to healthcare management.
Al Ketbi said the authority is keen to continue to use technology to support in the optimal utilization of its resources.
He congratulated the teams that worked to implement these projects at the DHA and reiterated the importance of technologies in the health sector to improve efficiencies, processes, reduce costs and directly benefit patients.
