Time to shine a light on women’s golf as the tournament returns for a second time
United Arab Emirates - November 01, 2020: This year’s OMEGA Dubai Moonlight Classic is set to begin on November 4th, welcoming many of the best players from the Ladies European Tour. This pioneering competition was held for the first time in 2019, and is renowned for being the world’s first professional day-night golf tournament.
This year, the three-day and 54-hole event will be played under LED floodlights at the iconic Faldo Course at Emirates Golf Club against the iconic Dubai skyline, with 56 players competing for victory. The OMEGA Dubai Moonlight Classic is the flagship tournament on the Ladies European Tour and a must-play occasion for players seeking to improve their Order of Merit rankings.
From the Title Sponsor and Official Timekeeper OMEGA, the winner of this year’s tournament will receive a Speedmaster 38 mm timepiece along with their winner’s cheque. The beautiful watch features a full 18K Sedna™ gold case with a “cappuccino” dial and a taupe-brown leather strap. The watch’s bezel features the Speedmaster’s famous tachymeter scale as well as a circle of sparkling diamonds.
Furthermore, any competing golfer who is talented enough to score a hole-in-one on the 7th hole will receive the same Speedmaster 38 mm watch, this time in a dynamic combination of stainless steel and 18K Sedna™ gold.
For the safety of spectators and in accordance with COVID-19 regulations, this year’s tournament will be played behind closed doors, with no access to the public, however fans will be able to watch all the action as the event will be broadcast globally to more than 60 countries and 348 million households.
The final round on November 6th will see the winner of the OMEGA Dubai Moonlight Classic crowned champion after two pro/am rounds are played on the 4th and 5th of November respectively.
