Dubai, UAE, 21st Sept 2020: Understanding the special needs for UAE’s People of Determination to continue with their education & rehabilitation programs in a time when social distancing is the norm due to COVID-19, the Jumbo Group has contributed three custom-made buses to the Rashid Centre for People of Determination as well as providing for additional facilities such as an isolation room at the premises and more equipment for increasing individual physiotherapy sessions for the children.
The biggest need of the hour during a period of social distancing is to reduce the risk of any infection and therefore Jumbo has also contributed towards sanitization of the centre and purchase of masks and face shields.
Arvind Agrawal, CEO of Jumbo Group, commented, “While the extensive social distancing measures have been tough but necessary to arrest the spread of coronavirus, some of those hit hardest by it are the most vulnerable in our society. As a UAE-born business, we wanted to extend our support to the most special part of our community; our people of determination, to ensure that we can help them adjust to the ‘new normal’. We look forward to doing more as we believe it is our role to support with faster adaption – just as much as the entire city of Dubai is responding quickly to the changes. No one should be left behind in the fight against COVID-19 and we are all responsible for helping our people of determination to walk along-side us through these altering times.”
In recognition of this contribution, Mrs. Maryam Othman, Director General of the Rashid Center for People of Determination also presented a certificate of appreciation to the CEO of Jumbo Group, Arvind Agrawal and expressed her happiness with the Jumbo initiative to empower and enhance the capabilities of people of determination in their confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic. Mrs. Maryam Othman said: “We appreciate the efforts of the Jumbo Group and its contribution to meeting the requirements of our students at the present time, as they face the same risks as everyone else and without a doubt this contribution confirms the depth of the relationship that the Rashid Center for People of Determination have with its partners from the private sector, especially the Jumbo Group, who have supported us over the past years and have extended a helping hand to people of determination particularly during this time.”
Mrs. Othman added, “The Jumbo Group initiative undoubtedly provide an important aid to the children of Rashid Center, to help them face the repercussions of Covid-19, in addition to enhancing their self-confidence. The support from Jumbo Group is also representative of a qualitative leap in our relationship that reflects the originality and generosity of the Emirati society and everyone who lives here. There is no doubt that what Jumbo Group has provided to Rashid Center for People of Determination will remain engraved in our memories, and it will enable students to cross the current stage and secure a better future for them.”
