Dubai, United Arab Emirates, March 04, 2020: Citadines Metro Central Dubai, part of The Ascott Limited chain of hotels, has been awarded the Green Key global standard of environmental excellence within the hospitality sector, for another year running.
Since 2016, the team at the 210-units hotel apartments, located in Barsha Heights, have been incorporating and maintaining environmental practices, policies and regulations that are part of their Green initiatives, resulting in exceptional sustainability results, including a combined reduction in energy consumption and waste.
Key major steps that have been taken include:
• Use of power-saver LED Bulbs
• Use of e-services to reduce paper consumption
• Use of filters in shower and kitchen areas to avoid excess water usage
• Switching off lights and AC in vacant units
• Availability of 3 & 6 liter WC flush tanks to save water
Proud to be recognised for their unfaltering commitment preserving the environment and reducing its carbon footprint with their active green initiatives, Citadines Metro Central Dubai are truly honoured to receive the Green Key award for the fourth consecutive year.
The Green Key award is managed in the UAE by Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC). The council was established in 2006 to advance green building principles in a bid to protect the environment and promote sustainability across the UAE.
