French Healthcare Expertise To Be Introduced At Arab Health 2020

United Arab Emirates- January, 2020 - With over 80 French companies - including 14 new exhibitors - France will once again be participating at the Arab Health 2020 show in Dubai from January 27 to 30 dedicated to the latest innovations in the health sector. Gathered on the French Healthcare pavilion organized by Business France, the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, these companies will unveil their latest innovations designed to tackle today's major challenges.
The sectors with the largest representation on the French pavilions are Diagnostic Equipment, Telemedicine Solutions, Orthopedics and Physiotherapy, Hospital Equipment and Furniture, Hospital Risk Prevention and Management and Hospital Hygiene.
The French medical sector - an international reference
France is renowned worldwide for its industrial, scientific and medical expertise. The medical devices sector comprises more than 1,300 companies, 92% of which are SMEs, with sales on the French market of nearly €30 billion. In total, 85,000 people are employed in the sector in France. (Source: Snitem).
France is the 2nd largest European market for medical devices and the 5th largest in the world. (Source: MedTech Europe).
French medical innovations are recognized around the world
Innovation is the core strategy of French medical device companies; more than half of them have an R&D activity, and 13% are devoted solely to R&D. France's expertise is based on national research centers that are renowned for their innovative capacity, as well as on competitiveness clusters and universities, that place it among the leaders in health research worldwide. In 2019, SCIMAGO ranked INSERM as the 2nd best research institute in the health sector worldwide. France is also in 5th position worldwide for the filing of European and international patents in the medical devices sector.
French expertise that can be exported
In 2018, France's exports of medical devices reached €7.5 billion, an increase of 2.2%. More than half of these sales were destined for Europe. France's main customers are the United States, Germany and the Netherlands. France accounts for 3.4% of global exports of medical devices. (Sources : French Customs, UN Comtrade).

SOLSTEO : The market of single-use medical devices shows steady growth over the past 10 years. Experts say this fast-growing trend is far from over. Medical practices using disposable devices move sterilization upstream as a result, from healthcare facilities to the industry. It is estimated that 50% of all MD in the world are sterilized by ethylene oxide (EO) gas.
SOLSTEO is a French company that manufactures state-of-the-art industrial EO sterilizers. SOLSTEO is a member of the ISO technical committee that developed the ISO 11135 norms. They also contribute to other work groups of experts who share knowledge on EO sterilization process (e.g. parametric release, EO residuals).

In France, Wandercraft works alongside the Kerpape CMRRF and the Centre HOPALE-Jacques Calvé on exoskeleton development, as well as with the Pionsat CMPR APAJH which is investigating clinically, the effects of the exoskeleton on the rehabilitation of the standing and walking exercises.
