Forecasting an increase of over 3500% in interest compared to a regular day of the year
Dubai, United Arab Emirates - November 07, 2019: This Black Friday Swedish skintech brand FOREO is expecting record growth for beauty gadgets worldwide and is forecasting selling 200,000 beauty devices over the Black Friday weekend - enough to scale the Burj Al Arab more than 112 times over*.
“What traditionally started as a consumer electronics frenzy in the US has grown to become the biggest retail period of the year” says Anel Puzic, EMEA General Manager of FOREO. “This year’s Black Friday will be the biggest in FOREO’s history as the trend in skincare and instant gratification goes hand in hand with the connectedness of Black Friday and gifting season. With this in mind we expect to sell in excess of 200,000 beauty gadgets this year over the Black Friday promotional days.”
Such is the demand for beauty products in 2019 that the Swedish beauty company expects to see over 3500% increase in users on its webpage this year drawing comparisons from 2018 where it witnessed an increase of 2100% compared to any other day of the year.
In 2014, one year after FOREO was formed, the flagship LUNA beauty devices sold 1000 pieces over Black Friday weekend. In 2015 this number jumped to 5000 pieces, 2016 delivered 12,000 LUNA devices across the globe, 2017 had jumped to 20,000 LUNA devices worldwide and last year (2018) a huge 60,000 devices were snapped up by eager beauty buffs across the Black Friday weekend.
With the Black Friday sales of the wider FOREO portfolio forecasted for 2019 at over 200,000 units this year, the Swedish beauty powerhouse says it will sell enough beauty devices this year to scale the Eiffel Tower 120 times over, or even 94 times the height of The Empire State Building, proving the purchasing power for beauty gadgets is high on Black Friday lists across the globe.
FOREO’s findings seem to buck the trend for global Black Friday habits with an independent research report of 12,000 participants, across 55 countries, claiming that in the UAE the average sales growth on Black Friday in comparison with a regular day is 152% Furthermore; the average spend of consumers in UAE is 1,068AED
