Revving The Engines At Rallylegend 2019 With Eberhard & Co.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - October 17, 2019:    A weekend with the biggest rally champions was held from the 10 to the 13 October in San Marino. Now in its 17th edition, Rallylegend is an adrenaline-fuelled event fully immersing over seventy thousand spectators from around Europe in the world of rally racing from times past and the present day. 

For the seventh year, Eberhard & Co. was Partner and Official Time Keeper for Rallylegend, a spectacular event where the most beautiful historic rally cars and their contemporary counterparts, raced by the biggest champions of today and yesterday, took on the clock in challenges held on special tracks in the Republic of San Marino. 
Rallylegend concluded with the triumph of Belgian driver Thierry Neuville and his co-driver Nicolas Gilsoul in a Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC 1600 in the “WRC” classification. Coming in second place was his team mate at the World Rally Championship Andreas Mikkelsen with Anders Jaeger Amland in a 2016 Hyundai i20 NG. 

Eberhard & Co. presented the winning team with two chronographs from the Champion V collection on the podium. 

The San Marino event once again perfectly combined sport, competition and spectacle in the name of the passion for rallying – today and in times past – attracting over 70,000 spectators from around Europe. 

Participating at the event was of course Miki Biasion, two-time world rally champion and Brand Ambassador for Eberhard & Co., racing in the 1979 Opel Kadett GTE he drove at the start of his success-filled career to mark the important anniversaries shared with Tiziano Siviero, his historic co-driver, with whom he shares world victories. Eberhard & Co. wanted to recognise Miki Biasion and Tiziano Siviero and celebrate the 40th anniversary of the rally racer’s (from Bassano del Grappa) career and the 30th anniversary of his second victory at the Rally World Championship. Director General of Eberhard & Co., Mario Peserico, presented these awards. The House also awarded a special prize to the rally champion who took on Rallylegend for the first time, the American Ken Block, who won the pairs challenge “Legend Show”. 

In the prestigious line-up for the San Marino event were teams from around the world, including many internationally renowned drivers and co-drivers, such as Thierry Neuville, Belgian driver in the Hyundai Shell Mobis World Rally Team racing for the rally drivers world title, behind the wheel of a Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC, Gigi Galli driving a rallycross Kia Rio RX for the first time in a special challenge, Andreas Mikkelsen debuting at Rallylegend with a Hiunday i20 WRC, and Craig Breen . 
In addition to the 3 categories raced in the previous editions, namely Historic (cars from the early 1960s to 1986), Myth (cars built between 1987 and 1999) and WRC (built from 1999 to the present day), this year also featured Rallylegend Heritage, an exclusive competition for 20 original pre-1982 cars taking on 7 timed challenges on a reduced, 40km track, and Legend Stars, an unclassified category where the aim was to put on a show with slides and jumps to have fun and entertain the public. 

Special guests included Andrea Dovizioso, official driver for Ducati Corse at Moto GP and runner-up at the past two seasons of the Moto GP World Championship, and Mattias Ekstrom, world Rallycross Champion 2016 and three-time winner of the “Race of Champions”.
