Al-Futtaim Lexus opens its greenest and most sustainable 3S facility in the UAE

Flagship Lexus showroom in DIP is in line with UAE Government’s Vision 2021 and will cater to a growing number of residents in the Dubai South area and around the Expo 2020 venue 

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, September 04, 2019:  As part of its commitment to eco-conservation and its support of the UAE Vision 2021, Al-Futtaim Lexus has announced the launch of its biggest and greenest 3S (Sales, Service and Spare parts) facility in the country. 

The facility, which reflects the new international “Corporate Identity” for Lexus, was opened in Dubai Investment Park (DIP) and echoes Al-Futtaim’s strategic focus to target new and upcoming developments based around the Expo 2020 venue.

The 5,700 square metre facility will have 192 parking bays and three receiving/delivery bays that will be able to handle up to nine vehicles at a time. Additionally, there will be two car wash bays and 24 workshop bays. The facility will also provide secure racks for bicycles within a shaded area located no more than 30 metres from the building entrance for the convenience of the customers who live in the neighborhood.

True to the brand's heritage, the design of the new DIP 3S facility gets its inspiration from traditional Japanese concepts including Kumiko screens which is a wooden lattice, inspired by customary Japanese concepts. It is a perfect blend of Japanese “Takumi” craft concepts and modern architectural installations to represent the Lexus spindle grille motif. 

The design of the back wall in the showroom reception is inspired by traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The ‘Triaxial Orimono’ weaves fiber in three directions to offer durability and elegance while expressing the spindle grille motif into 3-dimensional textured partitions.

The new Al-Futtaim Lexus 3S facility is built around several sustainable initiatives that are unprecedented. They include: 

SOLAR PANELS
The facility has been fitted with solar panels which helps reduce power by 768,398 kWh each year. 

RECYCLED CARPET SYSTEM
The carpet used for the flooring across facility is made from the recycled material that has been certified by Dubai Municipality.

WATER RECYCLING SYSTEM
The car wash bays are equipped with wastewater treatment and recycling system that helps reduce water consumption and wastage.

NATURAL DAYLIGHT – SUN TUBES
The rooftop of the workshop is fitted with sun tubes that provide adequate natural lighting, equivalent to LED lights and helps reduce consumption of electricity during the day.

LED LIGHTING
The facility features LED lighting with motion sensors throughout the premises to ensure responsible usage and consumption of electricity.

ORGANIC PAINT 
The paint and coatings used across the facility are certified by Dubai Central Lab and do not exceed the permissible limits of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC), ensuring a safe work environment.

AIRFLOW CONTROL 
The entrance and exit lobbies at the facility are enhanced by a unique application that helps prevent the loss of conditioned air.

CONDENSATE RECOVERY SYSTEM 
The condensate water from all Air Handling Units at the facility is recovered and further used for landscape irrigation throughout the premises.

WATER DISPENSING SYSTEM
The facility features an enhanced water dispensing system that provides advanced filtered and purified drinking water and helps reduce the carbon footprint.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION AND PARKING 
The facility is equipped with four Electric Vehicle parking slots to promote and facilitate the usage of electric vehicles to protect the environment. It will also include secure racks for bicycles and feature enabled access for People of Determination.
