Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 20 August 2019: As part of its continuous efforts to spread cultural and religious awareness among the various strata of society including mosques visitors and students, the Department of Islamic Education and Religious Guidance of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) announced it will organise a series of lectures and scientific courses in various mosques in Dubai throughout the second half of 2019.
Ibrahim Jassim Al Mansouri, head of the Department of Religious Guidance, explained that the awareness and educational programs organised by the Department of Islamic Education and Religious Guidance address diverse religious, social and cultural topics aimed at the mosques’ visitors in the emirate to spread the values and principles of moderate Islam among Muslims.
Additionally, the Dubai Lectures program will continue to offer lessons in various mosques in the emirate, addressing a variety of religious and social topics that are of interest to the community. The Scientific Courses program, meanwhile, will provide intensive lectures and awareness sessions throughout the second half of the year for students and those seeking to deepen their understanding of jurisprudence and Islamic Sharia.
Al Mansouri stressed the keenness of the Department of Islamic Education and Religious Guidance to utilise the various mosques across the emirate as platforms for educational enlightenments and for inculcating the right scientific rooting of various religious and jurisprudential issues. The lessons and educational courses organised by the department in the mosques witnessed a large turnout, and the department is always keen to contribute to educating attendees about matters of their religion and the world.
The Department of Islamic Education and Religious Guidance in IACAD continues to organise humanitarian initiatives devised to bring happiness to various members of the community. The launch of the "Asaakm Al-Aydin" program, which aims to spread happiness and build familiarity among the visitors of mosques from various strata of society, was re-launched during Eid Al Adha through a range of events that witnessed a large turnout during Eid al-Fitr. The department also continues its Lectures of Hope program to alleviate patients and their families by organising weekly dialogue sessions and weekly guidance lectures by the department's preachers.
The humanitarian role of IACAD is an integral part of its functions according to the directives of the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in Article 9 of the 50-Year-Charter. Charity is at the core of communities’ happiness, spread of good, and for building civilised societies, as His Highness directs us. Based on this great vision, we will continue to work to undertake more humanitarian initiatives aimed at the happiness of all members of society across nationalities and social backgrounds.
The Department of Islamic Education and Religious Guidance in IACAD recently also announced the details of the religious awareness program for the second half of 2019, which will include more than 1,000 lessons, lectures, sermons, visits and meetings that will be held at various venues including mosques, prayer rooms, educational centres, public and private institutions, Quran memorisation centres, summer centres, hospitals, penal institutions, sports and cultural clubs and public places in the emirate of Dubai.
