Omega and Casamigos Tequila and Mezcal Launch New “deep Black” Timepiece

Eighty Limited-Edition Pieces Will Be Available Exclusively in the United States

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - May 26, 2019:   Raising a shot of Casamigos Tequila to their close and long-standing friendship, the Swiss watchmaker OMEGA and fast growing spirits company Casamigos Tequila and Mezcal, have proudly teamed up to launch a brand-new timepiece for customers in the United States of America.

The new Seamaster Planet Ocean "Deep Black" Casamigos is a tribute to the company founded by longtime friends George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman. Both George Clooney and Rande Gerber have special relationships with OMEGA stretching back over many years. While George is one of OMEGA’s most well-known and visible brand ambassadors, Rande has established his own connection through his wife Cindy Crawford, an OMEGA ambassador since 1995, and his children Kaia and Presley, who joined the brand in 2017.

Speaking about the new watch release, Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA said, “George and Rande are a special part of the OMEGA family and we’ve always been inspired by the creativity and premium quality of their Casamigos Tequila and Mezcal products. We wanted to do something special that celebrated our ‘Deep Black” design as well as the look of their world-renowned Casamigos Tequila and Mezcal.”

For Casamigos Tequila and Mezcal cofounder Rande Gerber, who took a very hands-on approach to the project, the respect is clearly mutual: “Design is very personal to me. When I designed the Casamigos Mezcal bottle the key was to create something unique that I want to have on my bar.  We used the same philosophy for our OMEGA collaboration, we worked closely to design something that was true to us and that we want to wear.”
 
A combination of a GMT model and diving watch, the new "Deep Black" Casamigos features a 45.5 mm case crafted from black ceramic, which has been finished in a unique matte texture inspired by the newly-launched Casamigos Mezcal. 

On the matte black ceramic dial, the wording is highlighted in the exact shade of teal as the trademarked Casamigos Tequila and Mezcal agave logo: a color also used on the tips of two of the four hands. 

Turning the watch over reveals a sapphire crystal caseback, which has been specially treated to resemble the dark glass of the Casamigos Mezcal bottle. It is also lacquered with a white Casamigos Mezcal logo and Limited-Edition number. 

The black rubber strap has stitching in black, while on the inside the watch is driven by the incredibly precise OMEGA Master Chronometer calibre 8906.

OMEGA's Seamaster Planet Ocean "Deep Black" Casamigos is limited to just 80 pieces and can only be purchased from OMEGA Boutiques in the USA at a retail price of USD $11,600 + tax.
