France at MedLab 2019

 

 

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - February 03, 2019: 11 French companies will be taking part in the region’s largest laboratory trade show, in Dubai, from February 4-7, 2019. Showcased across 180 m², the French in vitro diagnostics industry (IVD) will unveil its latest innovative ideas, which are the strategic pillars of the sector's development. 

 

Health innovation goes well beyond medical innovation, particularly because the fields involved, and in particular the in vitro diagnostics industry, are becoming more numerous, diversified and interdependent.

 

The IVD industry forms an essential part of the healthcare system. Over the past several decades, in vitro diagnostics (IVD) manufacturers have been able to gain the efficiency they needed, by investing ever more in scientific and technological innovation. Thanks to a particularly dynamic market, the in vitro diagnostics industry continues to invest massively in R&D and in its own industrial facilities. 

 

The major innovations of the companies exhibiting at the French Pavilion are as many breakthroughs in hematology, biochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, cytology and pharmacogenetics.

 

The laboratory industry in Europe ranks France as the second largest market behind Germany. France is a big producer of medicines driven by a dense industrial ecosystem with +271 production facilities and a highly skilled workforce. In 2017, the turnover of the medicine industry reached 54 billion euros in France, almost 50% intended to be exported. The French btob sector of the pharmaceutical industry gathers around 130 000 employees.
