Join the roving dancing dragons at Dubai Parks and Resorts in celebration of the Chinese New Year

Chinese-inspired delicacies, authentic market, dragon dances, traditional shows and colourful decorations mark the start of the Chinese New Year celebrations
Dubai, UAE, 27 January 2019: Get ready to be transported to the vibrant streets of Mainland China with a spectacular line-up of entertainment and activities planned at Dubai Parks and Resorts, the largest multi-themed leisure and entertainment destination in the Middle East and the go-to venue to celebrate Chinese New Year in Dubai.
Guests can enjoy a host of traditional activities at Riverland™ Dubai, MOTIONGATE™ Dubai, and LEGOLAND® Dubai to mark the Chinese New Year starting on February 1st.
Riverland™ Dubai, the free to enter uniquely-themed recreational hub offering 35 restaurants and retails shops, will be decked up with dazzling red and gold Chinese traditional lanterns to mark the occasion from 1 to 9 February. The visitors will also enjoy spectacular scenery as the sky will be lightened with fireworks on February 4th at 8pm.
Visitors can enjoy roaming parades and traditional themed activities including Couplet Pasting, a tradition that can be traced back to over thousands of years; Tea Art Cha Dao, a ceremony that showcases the harmony of tea, water, utensils, preparation, environment and conversation; and a daily festive market showcasing traditional Chinese arts and crafts and typical Chinese market items.
In addition, authentic Chinese street entertainment like Taiji, opera face changing, traditional Chinese dances including dragon dances will light up the venue every day. The highlight of the evening will be a ‘Dragon on the River’ show that will mesmerise guests with its incredible display of sound, light and colour. The Chinese New Year activities and market will start from 2pm until 10pm.
MOTIONGATE™ Dubai, which brings together three legendary Hollywood film studios in one location – DreamWorks Animation, Columbia Pictures including the Smurfs, and Lionsgate, will be celebrating Chinese New Year from 1 to 13 February. Visitors can enjoy traditional activities with their favourite film characters, including dragon dances, a Parade with Master Po, a Flash Mob, and Chinese delicacies at the park every day from 2pm – 7pm.
LEGOLAND® Dubai is hosting LEGO® themed fun activities for Chinese New Year from 5 to 16 February. Kids can enjoy a mosaic-building experience, pin their wishes on a traditional Wishing Wall and walk by Factory Street decorated with Chinese lanterns and red lights. For delicious goodies, guests can feast on fortune cookie milkshakes, slurp freshly made noodles from the noodle kart or relish in many more Chinese inspired dishes at any of the family restaurants.
The park is also set to launch its Gold Badge program during Chinese New Year Celebrations. The Gold Badge program incentivizes guests to find the limited gold pop badges worn by LEGOLAND Dubai staff AKA “Model Citizens” in the park. If visitors spot The Gold Badge, it can be kept and added to their collection or swapped at guest services for a complimentary day ticket.
Furthermore, visitors at Dubai Parks and Resorts can immerse themselves in a diversity of rides and attractions, live entertainment shows and much more.
