Dubai, United Arab Emirates, January 22, 2019: Young tech-savvy individuals with extensive knowledge of coding are using their expertise to find solutions to better the existing facilities available to support people of determination.
The hack is primarily focused on three themes revolving around people of determination.
The themes aim to improve the lives of those with physical, mental and intellectual disabilities, using technology as a medium to bring a positive impact in the day-to-day lives of people with determination.
The hack is in line with the Dubai Health Authority's (DHA) mission to transform Dubai into a leading healthcare destination by fostering innovative and integrated care models and through enhanced community engagement.
Ifthiquar Ahmed Jameel, IT specialist at the DHA said, “The Dubai Health Hack aims to increase community engagement, enhance patient care models and find innovative ways to provide health solutions for today’s challenges.
The hack will utilize the talent and creativity of our youth to make meaningful changes in the health care landscape of the emirate and directly benefit the lives of people of determination.”
Jameel said the teams worked round-the-clock for 30 hours and an esteemed panel of judges selected top three teams.
The teams have a month to further develop their ideas and the winners will be announced during the DHA’s Innovation Week in February.
The first prize is AED 60,000; second is AED 30,000 and third prize is AED 10,000.
The teams consisted of students, entrepreneurs, incubators, technologists, coders and IT specialists.
