As the official Telecom partner for the event, du enabled Sharjah University to accomplish the record-breaking attempt
Dubai, UAE, 10th December, 2018: du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), has partnered with Sharjah University for a Guinness World Record attempt to create the world’s largest mosaic – a monumental Year of Zayed Logo made from 50,000 du-branded envelopes, with recharge cards inserted inside them to deliver AED 100,000 worth of recharge credit to labour camps to boost du’s commitment towards being an advocate for corporate sustainability.
With support from du as the event’s official Telecom partner, and under the patronage of Sharjah University’s administration and members of the teaching and administrative bodies, the university’s students successfully implemented the record feat in the university’s main building.
Abdulwahed Juma, Executive Vice President – Brand and Corporate Communications, du, said: “du's participation in this event is a tribute to the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his inspirational vision that contributed to the UAE's progress and prosperity. As a leading Telco in the UAE, we are active in our commitment to drive the National Agenda by maintaining a dominant role in supporting and empowering the UAE’s student population and higher educational institutions. Our duty as an operator also hinges on the happiness and satisfaction of the entire population, and in the Year of Zayed – this is even more resonant. Through initiatives like this we can truly impact the wellbeing of everyone in the country and help deliver the benefits of ICT to all.”
