LG Electronics (LG) pursues sustainability management that is balanced with society, the environment and the economy to provide ergonomic and functional homes
DUBAI, UAE – November 28, 2018: The term ‘sustainable company’ is thrown around quite loosely and frequently these days. It seems to be one of the bigger buzzwords of the decade. At the core of this trend, lies a joined consensus between consumers and the general public: they are not satisfied with businesses that focus only on short-term profit maximization. People tend to stay loyal to businesses that are far more considerate of human needs and the environment in general. LG Electronics (LG), is heavily invested in creating innovative industry-leading products focused on creating sustainable domestic home-living for its trend-setting consumers.
Mr. Kevin Cha, President of LG Electronics Middle East & Africa (MEA) commented: “Our ultimate goal of sustainability management principles is to reflect the different voices of our stakeholders and to generate differentiated value for them, serving the firm foundation for a company’s sustainable growth. Living in a location where we are exceedingly using energy - especially during summer - it is important to be smarter and conserve as much as we can. With smart software platforms such as LG’s SmartThinQ, we are not only able to deliver outstanding convenience to our users but create an exceptional ecosystem that offers ultimate energy-conserving methods as well.”
Not only is LG’s SmartThinQ range of appliances and devices designed to provide owners with sustainable energy savings, they are meant to reduce pollution, minimize efficiency losses and offer low lifecycle costs compared to similar products available on the market - all which inevitably lead to a more sustainable environment around us.
The interactive smart application communicates with users by letting them know when a light has been accidently left on or if the refrigerator door has been left open by mistake. For example, the new line of LG refrigerators come with a slew of options to preserve energy. Some of the fridges feature glass doors so they do not have to be opened as much, while others come with a night mode feature, designed to conserve energy in less-usage hours. SmartThinQ appliances are also equipped to display daily, weekly and monthly reports detailing appliance and energy consumption for future reference.
Another award-winning line of LG SmartThinQ products includes a new line of smart air conditioning (AC) systems. LG has demonstrated how its air conditioning technologies are designed to minimize efficiency losses found in conventional HVAC systems and offer sustainable energy savings, in turn leading to considerably lower life cycle costs. Fairly new to the suite of AC products is the ability to control Wi-Fi enabled indoor units using the LG SmartThinQ application, allowing users the freedom to control their home’s precise comfort with the touch of their fingertips. The capability enhances the efficiency and convenience, giving unprecedented control to create a truly connected home. Apart from refrigerators and Air Conditioners, other SmartThinQ-enabled devices include washing machines, robotic vacuums, air purifiers and much more.
As energy-saving becomes a bigger priority in the Middle East, governments, organizations and individuals have largely been focusing their efforts to decrease energy consumption to more sustainable levels. LG features intuitive, responsive designs that are created in a socially responsible way, so consumers can spend more wisely, make more informed decisions on buying specific technologies and generally impact the world around us. LG is committed to providing various electronics that work best for the way its users live.
