Al Maktoum Foundation Allocates AED300,000 to Abu Dhabi University Student Fund

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates 7 April, 2018: Abu Dhabi University (ADU), an internationally recognized academic institution for quality education and applied research, today announced that it had received financial support to the tune of AED300,000 from Al Maktoum Foundation towards the ADU Student Fund.
His Excellency Salem Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of Community Relations at ADU, received the cheque for the amount from His Excellency Mizra Al Sayegh, Director General at the Office of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Chairman of the Al Maktoum College Board of Directors at a special ceremony in the presence of Sherif Mousa, Interim Vice Chancellor at ADU and Dr Nicholas Rees, Associate Provost at ADU.
Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency Mizra Al Sayegh said: “In line with the core priority of the UAE leadership to strengthen the education sector in the country and as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance and Industry, this financial contribution will provide much-needed support to outstanding students at ADU and enable them to achieve their dreams.
In addition, it reinforces the strong relationship that Al Maktoum Foundation and Abu Dhabi University share and our sustained efforts in ensuring the UAE’s graduates receive best-in-class education and skills empowerment.”
For his part, Salem Al Dhaheri expressed his appreciation to the Al Maktoum Foundation on behalf of the ADU family for its close cooperation with the university that goes a long way in enabling deserving students to access the best possible education across disciplines.
He commended the continuous support and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum through the Foundation in providing financial aid and different forms of assistance to ADU’s high achievers.
