Children to meet new story characters every week; spark their imagination and learn creative concepts the fun way
December 13, 2017; Dubai, UAE: Winter has arrived in the UAE and the cool air brings with it an insatiable appetite for some wonderful winter-related stories for children. This season, British Orchard Nursery will explore the magical world of story-telling to develop creative communication, language and listening skills in children in their upcoming winter camp, “Once upon a Winter...”. From polar bears to small furry animals, Icy snowman, Tacky the penguin and Gruffalo the monster come alive. The series of stories will create a unique world of twists and turns and help little ones to acquire different concepts of learning in a fun and imaginative way.
The camp will run from December 17th to January 4th across all the 18 branches of the Nursery in the UAE.
“We have divided the levels into two age groups – toddlers and foundation – and each week, children will be introduced to a new story. Based on the story of the week, they will create props of their interest to put into their story sack, and later use them to narrate the story in their own words. Through this activity we will cover the seven main areas of learning: communication language, literacy, mathematical development, physical development, personal social emotional development, understanding the world and expressive arts and design. We will also invite parents at the end of the camp to participate in the story-telling,” explained Dr Vandana Gandhi, Founder and CEO of British Orchard Nurseries.
As children meet new characters each week, they will pick up concepts related to recycled material, physical movements and senses, texture, water safety, attic animals, continents , natural materials including activities related with family, social behavior, good manners, careful listening , matching numbers, role playing, amongst many others.
