Dubai Health Authority ( DHA) and Dubai Police sign MoU to extend cooperation in humanitarian and charitable work.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 8, 2017: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) signed today a memorandum of understanding ( MoU) with Dubai Police to extend cooperation in humanitarian and charitable work.
The MoU was signed today by HE. Humaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority and Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Merri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police at the 10th session of the Dubai Forum for Government Best Practices organized by the Dubai Government Excellence Program today.
The MoU aims to foster exchange of information, knowledge and experience to cooperate in the humanitarian field.
As part of the MoU, the Dubai Police will first study humanitarian cases that they receive that have a medical component. They will then forward such cases to DHA’s Humanitarian and Charitable Department.
The Department is dedicated to providing treatment to those with financial difficulties. In 2015, the department worked with various charities and organizations in the UAE to raise AED 67 million to help 1640 patients from 43 nationalities. In 2016, they raised 108 million dirhams and in 2017 the program was selected as one of the initiatives for the Year of Giving. By the end of the year, the department aims to raise 250 million AED in aid and carry out 49 medicine donation programmes.
HE Humaid Al Qutami said: “The Dubai Police is an important strategic partner of the DHA and the DHA is keen to extend its cooperation to strengthen the provision of humanitarian services in line with our ongoing efforts to support the humanitarian goals of the UAE.”
Major-General Al Marri said that Dubai Police is keen to extend cooperation with the DHA to support humanitarian initiatives and that this cooperation is an opportunity to exchange knowledge and expertise in the field.
